Parafarm Animal Healthcare is a Dutch importer and exporter of veterinary medicines and supplements for companion animals and sport animals. We are based in The Hague and deliver to customers worldwide.
We are not veterinarians and do not provide medical advice. Parafarm acts exclusively as a trader and distributor of products from recognised European manufacturers.
What we do
Parafarm imports and exports a wide range of animal health products, divided into two categories:
Veterinary medicines
Registered animal medicinal products, originating from authorised European manufacturers. The supply of these is subject to legal classifications — see below for the delivery conditions per category.
Supplements and care products
Nutritional supplements, vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, probiotics and supportive products for pigeons, dogs and cats. These products are freely available and can be ordered without a prescription or licence.
Delivery terms per product category
Depending on the legal classification of a product, different delivery conditions apply. Parafarm uses three delivery categories:
Category 1 — Freely Available
Supplements, vitamins, and over-the-counter products can be ordered without additional documentation.
Available to all individuals and businesses, worldwide.
Category 2 — Prescription-only supply (URO)
URA: Prescription only from a veterinarian
Certain veterinary medicines may only be supplied upon presentation of a valid veterinary prescription.
When placing an order, a scan or photo of the prescription must be uploaded via the webshop. Orders will not be processed as long as an approved prescription is missing.
Category 3 — For veterinarians and licensed dealers only (UDD)
For Veterinary Use Only
A part of the range is legally reserved for registered veterinarians and licensed dealers.
Veterinarians
You must create a business account and provide your BIG registration number or UBN (Unique Business Number). Orders will only be processed after verification.
Licensed dealers:
A copy of the valid permit must be provided upon registration. UDD products cannot be purchased until the permit has been verified.
Import and export
In addition to direct delivery to end customers, Parafarm also handles the import and export of veterinary medicines and supplements worldwide. We work with distributors, veterinary practices, animal sports associations, and wholesalers in multiple countries.
